With an online beauty business where you rely on a large percentage of your revenues through your ecommerce website, it is critical that you search out new and effective marketing methods via the Internet that are affordable and assist with your business growth. You are probably aware that in the current online marketing climate “content is king”.
There is one excellent way to get your business message out there that takes very little money, but will take some time and knowhow – I am talking about using online article submission and syndication websites to market your beauty business. Essentially, here is how the process works:
1 – You write (or pay a professional writer to create) quality articles that are educational, informative or entertaining – these articles should in no way blatantly advertise your business. They should include strong keywords that are important to your beauty business though.
2 – Create an account with the article submission sites you want to do business with and upload your articles to the better article submission sites. A few worth mentioning are ezinearticles.com and articledashboard.com.
3 – A critical step is to create a very strong, effective and marketing focused resource box that links back to your business site.
4 – If you get lucky and the site allows you to include hyperlinked text within the article (not many of the quality article sites will), then link your most important keywords back to various pages on your beauty business website or blog.
If your articles are interesting, other people will syndicate your copy and include it on their website. This is the beauty of article submission sites. They must include your resource information and this gets your business information and link onto many other related websites.
Keep in mind that chances are really good that if someone has used your article, their website is also beauty industry related. The fact that they find your content important enough to include on their website is a strong signal to Google that your website must be important – this moves your Google search returns further up to page one, hopefully and over time will continue to increase your Google page ranking.
The key to success is to upload at least 1 or 2 new articles each week so that you are always offering fresh content to syndication subscribers. Also, some article sites will allow you to have more than one resource box – therefore you could vary your marketing message that will be tagged to the bottom of each article, and change it up depending on what you want to promote.
A few strong words of caution if you are going to dive into article submission site marketing:
- Make certain (especially if you hire a freelance writer) that every single article contains 100% original content. Never use content that has been previously published or has a copyright attached.
- Articles should have a very strong title that is 5-8 words in length and includes your most important keyword.
- Use your primary keyword in the first paragraph, and then again once for each paragraph of content.
- Choose keywords that will funnel back into your business, or better yet, your beauty business website.
