Marketing On Facebook To Increase Your Website Traffic

Marketing on Facebook is becoming the primary method of social media marketing. The power to deliver your message to millions from the comfort of your computer screen is every internet marketers dream come true.

Everyone benefits from Facebook who has something to say. From your average person who's just voicing their opinion to the marketing guru promoting an upcoming workshop. There are many ways to get your message out and boost traffic. Some include:

- The Facebook news feed. When you register for Facebook and become a member, your first task is to look for people you know (or make new friends). The more friends you make, the more messages show up in your news feed. Your news feed is where you can see what your "friends" are saying and they can see what you've got to say.

If you read a cool story online and you want to share it with your friends, you put the link into your newsfeed and now your friends can read the story. For a time, this was the way you communicated with one another. It still is, but now there's a new method of sharing information.

- The "Like" button. Now when you read a story online, you'll most likely see the Facebook "Like" or "Share" button. Clicking on this button instantly post the article onto your news feed and when it's on your news feed, it shows up on your friends feeds as well. This is a means to an end because the news feed and the like button are part of the relationship building process of marketing on Facebook. As is....

- The Business/Fan Page. While your personal profile is for building relationships, your Fan page is for promoting your product or service. Facebook has strict rules about using your personal profile to promote a product and they designated the fan page for this purpose. The Fan page works the same as the personal profile but with a few differences.

With a personal profile you are limited to the amount of friends you can acquire. A Fan page allows you to have an infinite number of fans to promote to and that's the other difference. Shameless promotion.

- Groups. Marketing on Facebook is about conversion and traffic for your business. A group enables you to set up a place where people can talk about the niche that brought you all together. If you sell football fan wear and you started a group about hot topics in football, that would be where you all would come together and talk football. Here you would share a link to an article on your site and transfer your group traffic over to your website.

And that's what it's all about in the end. directing your Facebook traffic to your home website to promote your product or service.
